Khador: Metal Kommander Sorscha

From the old metal battle box, done in my original intended Khador studio scheme that proved to be far too time consuming. Likely the last model I will paint in this exact scheme and methodology.

Khador: Destroyer

Test model for my Khador army, I had originally wanted to do a straight red scheme, but the test model though good looking was far too time consuming. This was my first attempt at painting a model quickly using weathering techniques.

Prime Vallejo Black Primer through airbrush
Basecoat Panzer Aces 302 Dark Rust
Foam paint Panzer Aces 301 Light Rust
Foam paint Panzer Aces 303 Yellowish Rust
Coat of AK Interactive Worn Effects (like hairspray technique) through airbrush
Airbrush shade the plates in thin coats of Foundry Moss 29 A, B, & C
Use water to brush the Moss off and expose rust beneath.
Coat of Vallejo Matte Medium through the airbrush.
Khador Red Base on shoulder plates by hand.
Vallejo Model Air Chrome by hand on silver parts.
Citadel Shining Gold by hand on gold parts. Really hope the new formula of Model Air gold I just ordered goes on as easily as their silvers.
Foam painting chips on red shoulder pads with Panzer Aces 302 Dark Rust.
Dots by hand of 302 Light Rust and 303 Yellowish Rust on shoulder Pads.
Vallejo Gloss Varnish through the airbrush.
Light oil was over plates of Winsor & Newton Winton Oil Colour 3 Burnt Umber.
Clean up with mineral spirits.
Vallejo Matte Varnish through the airbrush.
Wash gold heavily with Citadel Devlan Mud.
Wash gold with Citadel Gryphonne Sepia.
Wash silver heavily with Citadel Badab Black.
Highlight silver with Model Air Chrome.
Highlight gold with Model Air Gold.
Base washed with P3 Umbral Umber and P3 Brown Ink.
Base drybrushed with P3 Rucksack Tan.
Base drybrushed lightly with P3 Menoth White Base.
Edge of base reclaimed with Vallejo black primer.
Edge marks painted on with P3 Skorne Red.
Few light coats of Testor's Dull Cote.
Tiny highlights of silver with Model Air Chrome.
Tiny highlights of gold with Model Air Gold.
Few patches of Army Painter Jungle Tuft for a springtime look :D

Rust color test

Rust color test using on left: Panzer Aces 301 Light Rust, 302 Dark Rust, and 303 Yellowish Rust. On the right are P3 colors Bloodstone, Khador Red Highlight, and Battlefield Brown.

Clothes Pin Tech

Saw someone on the PP forums using this and had to rob it. Great flexible way to hold lots of individual pieces to paint.
